The barbs--the part that can sting--are made of keratin and grow like fingernails so the clipping is safe and painless for the stingrays too.
Take your experience to the next level with our Stingray Snorkel Program! During this program, guests snorkel alongside the two species in our 20,000-gallon indoor habitat. In addition to learning about how stingrays eat and survive in the ocean, snorkelers enjoy several behaviors: a kiss, cradle, hug, feeding, playing with enrichment toys and free snorkel time.
